The Law Library has an open-stacks arrangement. Bring items you want to take out of the library to the library office to be checked out.
IMPORTANT : Do not take out any library materials without check out procedures.
As is the case with many Law Libraries, a large portion of the collection is noncirculating. Among the noncirculating materials are periodicals, reporters, statutes, digests, selected loose-leaf services and reference materials.
Use of reserve material is subject to the usual rules and regulations. All reserved items must be signed out by an individual and that individual is responsible for returning the material on time.
Reserve materials cannot be renewed.
Computers in the lab are available for law student use.
Each computer in the lab is set up to access Westlaw(www.westlaw.com), LexisNexis(www.lexis.com), CALI(www2.cali.org) and a variety of Internet legal research sources.
Only currently enrolled Handong Law School students, faculty, and staff may use these computers.

Online Retrieval
- There are two major full-text computer-assisted legal research systems : LEXIS and WESTLAW. They are both available to the law students and law faculty of Handong University for educational research purposes. Although the systems differ in some respects, each includes the full-text of judicial opinions, statutory material, administrative regulations and decisions, and other legal and non-legal resource material.
Both WESTLAW and LEXIS offer individual password to HILS students and faculty members. The passwords allow users to access the systems on home computers as well as on the computers in the library¡¯s labs.
This policy does not allow carrels to be used as storage areas for non-Library materials or as personal office space.
- Carrels will be periodically inspected by the law librarians and law school staff to ensure compliance with these safety and cleanliness guidelines.

- Students should not allow items intended for disposal, particularly perishable food items, wrappers or containers to accumulate in your carrel. The Library staff will remove any food, drink, or improper items that are left in a carrel.

- Impermissible personal items that are left in a carrel will be removed by the staff.

- The Law School is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

- Under no circumstances will staff agree to hold on to personal items for any length of time. Students should not leave their valuables and other personal items in their carrels or anywhere else in the Law Library or Room 401.
